Production Manager – Landscape / Hardscape Division

Compensation: $60,000 – $70,000 per year

The primary focus of the Production Manager is increasing profitability by increasing production, reducing waste and through training of our individual staff members and crews. The Production Manager’s primary goals are to increase efficiency rates, ensure we have a well-trained staff, and to assist our crew leaders so they know how to complete their projects in the most efficient way while also having a high emphasis on quality.

The Production Manager should view all phases of getting each project completed from the scheduling to the completion as within their realm of influence and control.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Involvement in scheduling jobs and Staff Members
  • Training Staff Members
  • Motivating, supporting and providing guidance to production staff
  • Ensuring we have the right tools, materials and equipment to complete each job
  • Ensuring our staff members are working safely
  • Ordering / Purchasing Materials
  • Understanding man hours bid for each project and helping crews to meet or beat them
  • Direct oversite and participation in completing jobs
  • Ensuring crews have everything they need prior to leaving the shop

Estimator / Project Manager – Landscape / Hardscape Division

Compensation: $50,000 – $60,000 per year

This position is ideal for an individual who comes across to others in conversations as confident, friendly, and trustworthy. Previous experience in the landscape and/or hardscape industry is a must for this position. In this position, you will have scheduled appointments with potential clients who are looking for landscaping and/or hardscaping work. You will be the face of the company from the initial appointment with potential clients all the way through to the completion of their project. In addition to the wage, this position often comes with a company truck, cell phone, and tablet.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with potential clients and bidding landscaping and hardscaping work electronically with company provided tablet
  • Assisting clients to come up with solutions to their landscaping problems, concerns, and desires – Then proposing the completion of those solutions
  • Overseeing, managing, and/or participating in all work you are responsible for selling
  • Some clients can only meet during evenings and weekends, so some evening and weekend appointments should be expected
  • Understanding labor and material costs that go into the installation of each landscape project you bid
  • Presenting clients with installation proposals with the goal of having them hire us to install and bring their ideas and your proposal to life
  • Ensuring all accepted proposals sent directly to you are turned in to the office
  • Respond to and correct issues or concerns from clients or landscape crew staff on the installation phase of projects you bid whether those issues and concerns are before, during, or after the installation phase is completed
  • Assisting crew leaders to meet or beat the bid man-hours on each of your projects
  • Possess or gain a significant knowledge of landscape materials, plants, trees, and shrubs used on landscape and hardscape projects
  • Regularly check in with crews working to complete projects you sold to ensure they are progressing efficiently and accurately
  • Communication should be kept with each client and potential client you are responsible for so they know what stage your proposal and/or their installation project is at and when they can expect their next update or communication from you

Foreman & Crew Leader Positions

Landscape Construction Foreman

Compensation: $24.00 – $30.00 per hour

This position requires substantial experience and a passion with and involving the construction of hardscape features such as retaining walls, patios, seat walls, pillars, steps and walkways. The individual hired to assume this position must also have a positive attitude and the ability to motivate, train and lead a crew of 2-3 other staff members.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of proper construction of all aspects of patio and retaining wall construction and installation
  • Ensure all equipment and tools needed to complete each construction project are at job sites and not left at job sites
  • Supervise and lead 2-3 other staff members on your crew in all phases of project construction and installation
  • Train other staff members in all phases of landscape construction and installation
  • Read and understand landscape designs to ensure proper installation based on what was proposed to clients
  • Knowledge of plant material and how to properly install trees, shrubs, and perennials
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when needed
  • Ensure job tracking is done by performing check-in/out to each project utilizing our company system
  • Accurately recording materials used on each project
  • Operate and train other staff members how to operate trucks, trailers, skid steers, saws, compactors, and other hardscape construction tools and equipment

Landscape Enhancement Foreman

Compensation: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour

This position requires substantial experience and knowledge in landscaping and the use of landscape equipment. The individual hired to assume this position must also have a positive attitude and the ability to motivate, train and lead a crew of 2-3 other staff members.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of proper landscaping methods including but not limited to grading, seeding, establishing landscape beds, mulching, planting trees, shrubs and perennials
  • Ensure all equipment and tools needed to complete each landscape project are at job sites and not left at job sites
  • Supervise and lead 2-3 other staff members on your crew in all phases landscaping and landscape installations
  • Train other staff members in all phases of landscaping and landscape installation
  • Read and understand landscape designs to ensure proper installation based on what was proposed to clients
  • Knowledge of plant material and how to properly install trees, shrubs and perennials
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when needed

Lawn Care Technician / Turf Applicator

Compensation: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour

In this position, you will be responsible for applying fertilizer, insecticide, and herbicides to turf areas for our commercial and residential clients. You will also be responsible for providing Perimeter Pest Control and Mosquito Control Treatments.

  • This position requires a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • This position requires you to either hold or be willing to obtain a 3.0 Certified Applicators
  • License. If you do not have one, or yours is no longer current, we will assist you and cover the cost for you to obtain one.
  • Previous experience in turf applications is a plus, but not required

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Use math skills to determine usage and mix rates
    Load lawn care truck with everything needed for each day
  • Have or obtain a good understanding of different types of weeds, fungi, diseases and insects that can harm our client’s turf
  • Have or obtain an understanding of lawn care practices and a knowledge base to be able to educate our clients on how to deal with lawn care related issues
  • Communicate directly with lawn care clients especially in regards to lawn care concerns and propose a solution to their lawn care issues
  • Be able to identify hard to control weeds like Creeping Charlie and Wild Violet
  • Have a high attention to detail ensuring all lawn areas are treated evenly during each lawn application
  • Inform office when additional products and materials are needed ensuring we do not run out of any product needed for current or next round of applications and treatments
  • Lift, carry and load 50lb bags of fertilizer daily and throughout each day
    Be self-driven, as in this position you will usually be working alone

Lawn Mowing / Landscape Maintenance – Crew Leader

Compensation: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour

This position requires you to have previous professional Lawn Maintenance experience. If you do not have experience, please look at our ‘Lawn Mowing / Landscape Maintenance – Crew Member’ position. The position has 2 main responsibilities:

  • Leading your Crew to Provide High-Quality Mowing, Trimming and Backpack Blowing at Residential and Commercial Properties
  • Leading your Crew to keep the Landscape Beds Weed-Free on many of our client’s properties by spraying and pulling weeds at the same locations each week.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and ensure efficiency and quality on a 2-man crew which involves mowing, trimming, backpack blowing, pulling/spraying weeds
  • Ensure all equipment and tools needed to complete each mowing and landscape maintenance task are at job sites and not left at job sites
  • Possess basic plant knowledge which allows you to know the difference between a weed and a desirable plant in landscape beds
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when needed
  • Operate and teach others how to operate trucks, trailers, zero-turn mowers, trimmers, backpack blowers, sprayers, etc.

General Labor Positions

Landscape Construction Crew Member

Compensation: $17.00 – $22.00 per hour

This position is an ideal fit for individuals with a passion for installing hardscape features such as retaining walls, patios, seat walls, pillars, steps, and walkways. Previous experience is preferred but not required. Come with an eager willingness to learn if you have no previous experience in this field!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Construction and installation of all aspects of patios, retaining walls, and other hardscape features

The individual hired to assume this position must enjoy working positively with other staff members as a team to enhance the outdoor living spaces of our clients. If you enjoy working outside on a daily basis and not having to do the same task over and over as part of your career, this position would be a great fit for you!

Administrative Assistant

Compensation: $13.00 – $16.00 per hour

Assist the Office Manager in ‘behind the scenes’ tasks which directly support our in-field staff, management and clients. If you are an energetic, phone and face-friendly individual, this is an ideal position for you! In this position, you will be asked to expand your knowledge of the landscape and lawn care industry so you are able to best assist clients and potential clients with their requests. This is a full-time position Spring-Fall, but hours may be reduced over the winter season.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Answering phone calls with the goal of providing each client and potential client with outstanding client service
  • Learn to utilize our company management software efficiently while also ensuring all entries are accurate
  • Reading, responding to, and sending emails with an emphasis on quick response times to our clients
  • Scheduling appointments for designers and bidders directly with potential clients who contact our company
  • Measuring lawn care sizes and data entry in order to prepare and send out lawn care proposals

Landscape Design Positions

Landscape Designer & Project Manager

Compensation: $40,000 – $60,000 per year

Parm’s Landscape Management, Inc. is one of only a few Landscape Contractors in Sheboygan County that employs full-time, on-staff Landscape Designers. Our Landscape Designer & Project Managers have 3 main areas of focus:

  • Completing Landscape Designs
  • Bidding Landscape Projects based on their designs
  • Explaining job details to our Landscape Install and Construction Crew Leaders ensuring the implementation of your Landscape Designs is accurate and in line with your communications with our clients

Our company has a 10-Step Landscape Design Process which you will be responsible for going through each of the 10 Steps with each Landscape Design client.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Arriving on time to appointments with potential landscape and/or landscape design clients
  • Helping potential clients choose the best landscape design package that fits their design needs
  • Completion of the site analysis needed to complete each design
  • Completion of landscape designs based on client desires and site analysis
  • Presentation of all Landscape Designs completed directly to client
  • Listening to client’s thoughts and feedback and make modifications to landscape design with the end goal of having each client thrilled with both their final landscape design as well as the entire design process
  • After a completed landscape design; assisting our design client in the product selection if the design includes a patio, retaining wall, firepit or decorative stone
  • Understanding material costs that go into the installation of each landscape design you complete
  • Understanding the man hours needed to complete the installations of each landscape design you complete
  • Completing installation proposals based on the landscape designs you completed
  • Presenting clients with installation proposals with the goal of having them hire us to install and bring their design to life
  • Preparing a file consisting of materials needed, expected hours of completion, drawings and designs for the installation crew
  • After a proposal for installation of your landscape design is signed, you are responsible for ensuring we have all the materials or are responsible for ordering all products and plant material needed for our landscape crew to complete the installation
  • Oversee and ensure installation is adhering to design specifications and client desires for all installations relating to your landscape designs
  • Communication should be kept with each client and potential client so they know what stage their design or installation project is at, when they can expect their next update or communication from you
  • Bringing each landscape design client from (Step 1), Initial Consultation to (Step 10), Proposal for Implementation as efficiently as humanly possible with an understanding that quick turnaround times directly relate to higher installation closing rates
  • Ensuring all accepted proposals sent directly to you are turned into or forwarded to the office
  • Ensuring your “Weekly Report” is completed in full, accurate and turned into the office each and every week
  • Respond to and correct issues or concerns from clients or landscape crew staff on the installation phase of projects you designed whether they are before, during or after the installation phase is completed.
